Pickleball Lessons with Suzanne Cox - Pickleball Intermediate Sundays - 12:45pm Beginner 1:Players new or nearly new to the game of pickleball. The class will center on basic technical aspects of successfully playing the game of pickleball. In addition to rules of play, focus will include techniques for effective forehand shots, backhand shots, dinks, drops, serves, and return of serves. The class will also cover the more tactical skills of court positioning, transitions to non-volley zone, and non-volley zone play. The goal of the class is to give players the skills needed to reach the 2.5-player level. Beginner 2:Players who have completed a Beginner 1 pickleball course or have equivalent skills. The class will center on both the technical and tactical skills needed to advance from a 2.5 to a 3.0 player. Focus includes hitting medium-paced serves and volleys with direction and consistency; learning and using drop shots to reset gameplay and open shot opportunities; court positioning in different scenarios; understanding how to identify your strengths and your opponent's weaknesses to maximize point opportunities; and how to compete in a pickleball tournament.Intermediate:This class level is for the player who already has a basic understanding of the game and is trying to get to the next level.
