Northborough Summer Breakout Program - 2026!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2026 Northborough Summer Recreation Program! We’re thrilled to have your child join us for a summer packed with fun, friends, and adventure. Please read this letter carefully to ensure your child has a smooth, enjoyable experience with us.
**Schedule Change: Please note that due to the 2 canceled school days, we will be starting the Summer Breakout program on July 6th. We will be running 7 weeks instead of the previously advertised 8 weeks.
Program Overview
Our program takes place at Lincoln Street Elementary School all summer, utilizing the cafeteria, gym, classrooms, and outdoor facilities (tennis courts (MMS), basketball courts, playground, etc.). With the school’s air filtration system, most rooms feel air-conditioned. We keep kids comfortable with water activities and more to beat the heat!
Our summer program runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, for seven weeks. For kids going into grades K through 6. Kids (grades 3 – 6) will have the option to go on field trips on Wednesdays for an additional price. NEW THIS YEAR** Grades k - 2 will have a few field trips this year as well. More info to come.

What Does A Typical Day at the Summer Program Look Like?
What does a typical day at the Summer Program look like? As children arrive, they will be greeted by the Program director and will be directed to their group leader. Each grade group has their own space to start their day and say hello to friends (or be introduced to new ones). Each group will then discuss the day’s upcoming fun.
Grades K-6: Upon arriving kids will sign up for afternoon activities. Each grade will then participate in morning activities which will include snack time. After lunch, the kids are separated into groups by the activity they have chosen (older kids have different choices than younger). Daily activities include indoor/outdoor play, gym games, arts & crafts, sports, science projects, no-bake cooking activities, and more!
We pride ourselves on hiring the best staff: All of our counselors are trained to work with children, are CPR/First Aid certified, and references and background checks have been obtained.
