Join Northborough Recreation for a welcoming, community-centered guided nature hike designed with children with special education needs in mind.
Families will explore the outdoors together at a comfortable pace while enjoying simple nature activities, sensory exploration, and opportunities to notice and experience the natural world around them.
Our first hike will take place on the newly paved trail near the Northborough Senior Center, making this a great location for our first outing.
Date: Sunday, October 11
Time: 2:00 PM
Grades: K–5
Location: Paved trail near the Northborough Senior Center
Each child must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult for the entire program.
Space is limited to 10 people total, including children and accompanying adults, and advance registration is required.
While this program is designed to provide a supportive and comfortable outdoor experience for children with special education needs, all families are welcome to participate.
If there is enough interest following the first hike, we hope to offer additional guided hikes throughout the fall at locations such as Edmund Hill Woods and Stirrup Brook.
