SPENGA WORKshop Pilates
Pilates is a full body, low-impact workout that focuses on strengthening muscles, improving flexibility, posture, and promoting overall body awareness. Pilates has an emphasis on core strength. Pilates focuses on your secondary and more intricate muscles while moving the spine in all 4 natural directions. Pilates is inspired by gymnastics, yoga, and physical therapy. Key components are body alignment, breathing, and controlled, flowing movements, making it beneficial for physical and mental well-being.
Clients should expect to come out of this workshop with a heightened mind-body awareness, better understanding of posture, knowledge of their own personal alignment, and increased use of muscles you didn’t even know you had! The workout is challenging, fun, and guaranteed to burn in all the good ways! All skill levels are welcome. We have designed this 4-week series to enhance your skills over the duration of the sessions together.
It’s suggested to bring a sweat towel and wear workout clothing and dress in layers during colder days as your body will warm up/cool down.
SPENGA will provide YOGA mats and other equipment. If you have grippy socks- they are great for these type of workouts.
