FACT: About 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes. About 46 percent of people who experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest receive the immediate help that they need before professional help arrives.What does this course teach?
Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival
Recognize when someone needs CPR
Perform high-quality CPR for an adult, child, and infant
Describe how to perform CPR with help from others
Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult, child, or infant
Describe when and how to help a choking adult, child, or infant
***UPON COMPLETION OF THE COURSE THE STUDENT IS CERTIFIED HEARTSAVER CPR/AED FOR TWO YEARS FROM THE DATE OF THE CLASS. ***
